For relaxing times, make it Suntory time

Everyone wants to be found

Wishing I was still living in Japan. Each day I get more fed up of London and England in general. Also worried that this ever-worsening recession is going to ruin my chances of getting abroad with my current employer.

We’ll see.

    1. Is becoming something of a pipe dream I think. There is talk of redundancies. We’ll know more in 2 months time. Either my contract will end and I’ll be out on my ear, I’ll be offered a permanent job, or I’ll have my contract extended. The guy who told me I’d definitely go permanent is the no.2 in the company but the no.1, plus my boss (who are quite close), seem much less enamoured and more keen to see where costs can be cut.

So any type of transfer feels a bit like a flight of fancy at the moment.

  1. As an ex-pat, times are equally as gloomy abroad. Let us all don our brave faces, chase our dreams through some particularly shitty times, and drink gin on the brighter side. I hate it as much as anyone. In the meantime, how are you fixed for a night’s drinking in September?

    1. Oh I have talked to him in-depth the last 2 times I’ve been in there πŸ™‚ We talked about Sound of Music, remember? πŸ˜‰
