For a while I have talked about getting a new point-and-shoot camera. My very cheap Casio has been OK the past year. However, its one big downside is that it really can’t do wide-angle. At all. And I love wide-angle. So I have finally bought the Pansonic TZ7 (called ZS3 in the US) which gets very good reviews and which has dropped substantially in price since the new model came out (which has GPS but I don’t think a great deal else worth upgrading for). It’s made in Japan, has a Leica lens, a 12x zoom beginning at 25mm super-wide, does great macro shots and takes HD video. So far so good.
