Vignettes – 26/03/2012

Food shopping in Tesco in Covent Garden after work.

Then a rare journey home by bus. Too sore to cycle after having run 6 miles for Sport Relief (in 58 minutes, a time I’m pleased with) yesterday. Next stop is the Edinburgh Marathon in May (I’m doing the opening 8.5 mile leg for my team; many people run it in relay teams of four, as we are).

Henry Kissinger – at least that’s who he looked like, sitting in front of me on the bus.

A ‘mad man’ I saw from the window, looking out. White, middle aged, shorts, back pack, stopping person after person on the street. Total freak. Big cities and crazy people go hand in glove.

A beggar at Victoria, holding his hand out for money. I see very little when cycling but so much more when staring out of the window of a bus.

A loud American and his French sidekick on the front seats. Talking about gambling and which casinos they’re going to.

An elderly dowager getting on the bus, travelling one stop, then getting off.
